Beautiful Terror

Beautiful Terror.

As she stood on the sea bank watching the ever close clouds roll in. She decided to walk around in the city that had become desolate upon hearing the news of this storm. She looked up the hillside at the house that she'd grown up in.. thinking of all of the great times she had. Thinking about the neighbors that were always there. Now a 23 year old woman those memories seemed like past lives... never to return.

She walked up the hill to the house for what would be her last time. The rain began to pelt the ground she was walking on. She got to the house.. looking up at its torn shudders and the peeling paint. It wasn't what how she remembered it, but the love was as thick as the clouds that were now overhead. She walked away from the house. Her tears being overshadowed by the rain that was now pouring as if someone had turned on a water faucet at full strength.

Looking down the pathway to the pier she made the final decission. She walked down the pathway, nearly being swept away by the waves that were crashing over the walls. The lantern lighting the way blew out, although this had no effect on her senses seeing as she had ran down this pathway hundreds of times as a child. Stopping at the edge she said softly to herself "This place.... changed...." As she finished her sentence a wave crashed over the wall sweeping her along with it.

The next day the wind still lingered, although the beautiful sun and blue sky of the woman's childhood returned. Flowers from the giant tree in front of her house floated along the wind... landing on the destroyed houses. The wind carried a voice... as if to say "This place... is.... Beautiful Terror."

That was a pretty good short story, but I would have like it better if you had more imagery.
